Josh Green Joins Thaze Competition for 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge

Birmingham, MI, January 24, 2024 – Thaze Competition is proud to announce that Josh Green, a regular winner on the Road to Indy ladder, has joined Detroit’s Home Team for the rest of the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season. The Mount Kisco, New York native will co-drive with the team’s regular pro, Marc Miller, who finished third in the GSX class in Round 1 of the VP Racing Sportscar Challenge for Thaze at Daytona last weekend.

Twenty one year old Green has multiple open-wheel wins over the last five years and was the recipient of the prestigious Team USA Scholarship in 2019. He spent 2023 competing in the Firestone Indy NXT Championship with HMD Motorsports. The IMSA program is backed by Zimperium, a global leader in mobile device and app security and Green’s own innovative JHG Investment Fund JHG, in which people can invest in the driver for a share of his future earnings.

Green is excited about the prospect of running in arguably, the most competitive GT Championship in the World! “I’m extremely excited about jumping into sports cars with Thaze Competition. I have followed the Michelin Pilot Challenge closely for the past few years and was impressed by the performance and results in their two IMPC outings last season. Brian and Faisal are stand up guys and I’m excited to be a part of their program! Their plans and aspirations are big and they have the necessary understanding of motorsport to reach their goals. Above all they are both die-hard race fans who want to do right by talented drivers; that was my biggest draw to the squad.”

He went on to express his excitement in having the best possible environment to help him grow as a GT and sportscar driver. “Having Marc Miller as an in-house pro will better assist me in the transition from high-downforce formula cars into sports cars, and I have every belief that we will make for a strong driver pairing. I can’t wait to get to work prepping for Sebring and flying the Thaze Competition banner!”

The driver from Holland, Michigan shares the sentiment on the prospect of teaming up with Green. “Josh and I have a lot in common, following a traditional path of karting, open wheel and now sports cars. He has shown he has the talent already so I am ready to help him change his focus to heavier cars with less downforce. I believe we will be strong contenders from the get go.”

The Thaze Competition Team Owners are excited to be able to get their tilt at the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge title starting in March. “We’re thrilled to welcome Josh Green to the Thaze Competition family.” said Brian Makse, “Josh has shown tremendous versatility in open wheel racing and we’re excited to have him on board in our Mercedes-AMG GT4. The combination of Josh and Marc Miller gives us a formidable driver lineup in the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge championship. We can’t wait to see them hit the track at the 2024 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring weekend in March. Josh, welcome to the team and let’s have some fun!”

Makse’s co-owner Faisal Ahmad is equally energized by the addition of Green. “With his experience, Josh brings tremendous value to the team and we’re happy to welcome him into the Thaze family. As Detroit’s Home Team, we race with heart and pride, and we’ve come a long way since our debut at the Detroit Grand Prix last year. With Josh on board, we’re grinding out the hard work to achieve our goals and make our city proud. We have a great future ahead of us and we are excited to share it with Josh and his supporters..”
